 X Training
Most training programs recommend at least 1 session of x training per week. Just curious what activities people have found to be the most effective.
thanks

 Re: X Training
I have found swimming to be the best, but now I just lift light weights for endurance, play hockey and use the elliptical.
Hockey is good because it uses different leg and hip muscles and upper body. Given the weather this winter crosscountry skiing would be a killer workout.
Biking didn't work for me, it hurt my knees.

 Re: X Training
Eliptical.
Weight of your body still on your legs/feet, as oppose to biking. Getting some what of the same motion as running without the pounding on your feet. Cross training depends on your level of fitness. If your a beginning runner, I would recommend doing it a couple of times of the week for an easy day. But other than that, I would only cross train if you are having injury related problems.
